Description

Global Youth Forum

Presented by the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) and the Balsillie School of International Affairs

Friday, April 5, 2019

Hosted by CIGI and the Balsillie School of International Affairs, the Global Youth Forum is a free, one-day conference for senior high school students. This year’s Forum will centre around data, privacy and artificial intelligence (AI).

Students will learn about the complexities surrounding data, privacy and AI by exploring the social, ethical, legal, economic and political issues behind this subject. Personal data creates a number of opportunities in technology, healthcare, marketing and business, but where does privacy fit in? And how does artificial intelligence relate? There are some of the questions students will explore as they investigate this fascinating and timely topic.

Participants will engage in a variety of learning avenues including plenary discussions, breakout sessions with community and academic experts, firsthand testimonials, multimedia presentations, and a guided, small group simulation exercise.

A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.
